Judging procedure.
- Firstly the judge will ask the exhibitors to parade around the arena once or twice so that she can make an evaluation of the donkeys.
- The donkeys will then be halted at one corner of the arena and asked to trot to the end of the line up. The judge wants to evaluate your donkeys pace and action.
- Once everyone has trotted around the arena , the judge will then ask for them to walk around again and then motion to the steward to ask the donkeys to line up. The line up normally faces the audience and is normally in the order of merit.
- Each individual donkey will then walk forward (out of the line up) and be evaluated (confirmation wise) by the judge. The judge may well ask you your animals age.
- The judge will then ask the exhibitor to walk the donkey away (for a few yards) to assess its straightness and to trot back ( to confirm its soundness).
- The exhibitor then returns to the line up.
- Every individual animal is assessed and once this has been accomplished the judge will then ask the animals to parade around the arena again.
- When the donkeys are called in again , this will be their final placings.
